La Herencia De Sanchez Mezcal
The mezcal Herencia de Sanchez Espadin is produced, by the Sanchez family. Romulo Sanchez took over his father's distillery in 2003 and works around ten species of agaves, cultivated or wild, to produce mezcal in an artisanal way. With Herencia de Sanchez we find rich smoke at the back, but packed with sweet, fruity notes. It is made with Espadin agave that is cooked in earth pits before fermentation and then double distilled in copper stills. The lower than typical alcohol level makes it more suitable for use in cocktails.
